Pentecost Update

A Time for Giving

Much has happened since we launched our appeal in March for phase 2 of our building programme.

While our prayers and the activities of the PCC and churchwardens have been focused on the Interregnum and finding the right person to be our next vicar, many have also responded to the appeal to help us raise funds for the next phase of improving our church buildings.

We already have about half of the £300,000 we need for the next phase and we particularly hope that many more members of the church family will respond to the request to confirm their giving at one of the services this Pentecost Sunday.

The sad arson attack on the church early on May 12th has reminded us of the importance of our buildings. While it might possibly change our priorities it has only served to increase the need to invest in them.

We are fortunate that Martin Vodden has agreed to lead in our fund-raising activities and we hope this will enable us to draw on many different sources of funding. However, once again the biggest burden will fall on the church family, whose generosity has already been so evident in the great improvements to the church centre in the first phase of our plans, and in our current healthy financial state.

This Sunday you are invited to make a further contribution by way of either a commitment to regular giving for the building fund, a one-off donation, or a pledge for the future. Response form is available on the church website or at the back of St Luke’s or CHS.
