Prayer Diary - 7th Sunday after Easter- w/c Sunday May 20th, 2012

Lord, hear our prayer

Thursday - For Ann Woodward, Bernard High, Betty Roberts, Beryl Baxendale and for all who come to you, Lord, in brokenness, pain and grief.  Bring healing and wholeness to all who are suffering, and comfort to the dying.  

For Jasmine in her special pastoral ministry to all those in need.    

We remember those who died at this time of year - Charles Hockey, Cedric Belgrave, and Anne Harris

Friday - For discernment for Bishop Ian and our Archdeacon, Stuart Beake, and for Jane and Martin, as the references start to come in for the four shortlisted candidates.      

Saturday - For  those who live in  Dovedale Close and Doverfield Road.

For Colin and Jean during this difficult period of adjustment.  

For the couples still to be married by Colin this summer in

St Luke's.

Pray for Burpham Church

Colin wrote: Prayer for God's will and God's guidance is the most significant thing we can do for Burpham Church.

There are four ways to make prayer for the future of Burpham Church a priority.

    Three times during every week to gather together for prayer:

1  Sunday evenings    - 0 7.00 pm to  07.45 pm at CHS

2  Tuesday mornings   -  10.00 am to  10.30 am at CHS

3  Thursday mornings - 0  7.15 am to  07.30 am at CHS

    Gathering together to pray is so important, so please make one of these gatherings if you can.

4  But if you can't get together with others, or even if you can, please always commit to pray for Burpham Church     wherever you happen to be on a Tuesday lunchtime. This might be at home, in the car or walking the dog!

    It will be helpful and inspiring to think of all those others praying for our church at the same time.

The day when we especially pray for the CHS Building project

Sunday  -  That our worship in CHS today will continue to reclaim the church building for Christ and for the furtherance of his kingdom.

Monday -  For the wardens and the PCC, meeting tomorrow, particularly in view of the vandalism and fire damage, coming at such a pressurised time in our church life.   

Tuesday -  For the future of Burpham Church - pray particularly at 12.00pm today, and each Tuesday, wherever you are.  For the clergy who have been short listed and for the referees writing references for them.                                    

Wednesday - For those dealing with the matter of insurance.  That most of the damage to CHS will not turn out to be irreparable.  For those organising the repairs and those working hard to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
