PRAYERS THIS WEEK

 

 

We pray for

The renewing of the vision for our church life, that our buildings may serve the purposes of God for Burpham, for a strong response on our giving day, November 16th.

 

We pray for

all those in our church family who work in the financial and banking sectors, for all who are anxious or stressed by their working life.

 

We pray for friends unwell

Ann Barnett, Brian Whetton, Jo Munroe, Margaret Lawday, John Waller, Clifford Bardsley, Grace Greenwood, and all who care for them.

 

We remember

those for whom this time is the anniversary of their dying, especially

Teddy Urlwin-Smith

Geoffrey Lord

Gordon Barnett

and pray for loved ones who remain.

 

Monday - The local community

our homes and families, especially those in

Guernsey Close

Hazelhurst Close

and our neighbours with special needs in the Mallows and group homes.

 

Tuesday - The local churches

we pray for all the churches in Merrow, Burpham, the Clandons and Sutton Park, for the work of Together in Christ, for David Welbourn as he chairs the work of Together in Christ.

 

Wednesday  - The wider Church  Rowan our Archbishop, and the world-wide Anglican Communion.  Bishops Christopher and Ian, Archdeacons Julian and Stuart, Staff at Diocesan House, for the life and work of our Cathedral, for the Dean, Victor Stock.

 

Thursday - For all those in need

the Drop-in, all Carers of elderly, sick or disabled relatives or friends.

all elderly and lonely people;

those with problems of mental health - or working and caring in this field.

 

Friday - For all young people

for Caterpillar Café

for Lazers and their program.

for the ongoing work of Sunday Club and crèche.  For all involved in our uniformed organizations.

 

Saturday - Our life & witness

Colin, Chris all who serve here, for the power of the Holy Spirit in all that we try to do to show the love of God in our lives, our pastoral care and mission; worship and music, our praying together
